A week ago, I received my first product to review - The Sweetheart VoxBox! I was super excited! I love giving my opinion on things!
Since it's been a week, I thought it was high time I let you all know what I think about the products. Here they are, in order from my favorite to my least favorite (spoiler alert - I liked them all!)
1. Not Your Mother's: She's a Tease Volumizing Hair Spray - I LOVED this stuff. Friends, I don't ever use hairspray cause the stuff I typically get makes my hair stiff, looks greasy, and smells gross. This hairspray did none of that! The scent of the hairspray I got was Apple Blossom and Bamboo. It was a very subtle, enjoyable smell but wasn't something that would fight with the normal body sprays or perfumes I use. $6 for a full sized can? That's a price I can live with too. I can imagine I'll be buying this stuff for myself once the trial sized can is gone.
2. Olay Fresh Effects {Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System and Olay Fresh Effects {Shine, Shine Go Away!} Shine Minimizing Cleanser - I really like these two products. The powered cleansing system is really fun to use. It's a little scrub brush for your face. After just two uses I could already tell that my face was getting smoother. For thirteen dollars, I don't think I would have bought it for myself cause I'm kind of a cheapskate. Now that I know how well it works, I think it's worth thirteen dollars. I didn't feel as though the face scrub that came along with it was anything special. I don't have a particularly shiny face or large pores so the two benefits the product claimed to have weren't applicable for me. If you're interested in trying it to help minimize pores or reduce shine, I would suggest searching google for another blogger who received the box and knows whether or not it worked.
3. Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response - This antiperspirant claimed that it was 4x more effective at protecting against stress-induced wetness than ordinary antiperspirant. I don't sweat extra when I'm stressed so I don't know about the validity of that. What I do know is that I spent most of the day Saturday in my kitchen, baking for Nate's birthday party, and this antiperspirant left my underarms 100% moisture free. It was impressive for how hot and sweaty I was everywhere else! The antiperspirant is citrus smelling and really does smell amazing. I kind of wanted to sniff my armpits. How weird is that? Now, for the reason this is third on my list - I try to wear deodorant that is aluminum free. I think we put too many chemicals into our bodies and, one way I try to keep myself healthy is not allowing aluminum around my girlies very often. If you aren't aluminum free, then I highly recommend this antiperspirant. (Or I highly recommend getting an aluminum free deodorant, one or the other.)
4. Skinnygirl Daily On-The-Go Bars - This bar was tasty! I'm not typically a fan of chewy bars but this one was blueberry and yogurt - full of protein and fiber. I ate it on Sunday before church and was full until lunch. One of the problems I had with it was simply that it was a chewy bar. I have TMJ (a jaw problem) and eating this bar caused my jaw to start hurting. Obviously, if I didn't have the problem, I wouldn't have had the problem with the bar - I'm just sharing my experience. My other problem with the bar is the price, it's $9.99 for a box of five. As a seminary student wife, that is out of our budget. I could buy three pounds of granola and a two tubs of greek yogurt for that price. (Yes, that is what I typically have for breakfasts) If that price is within your price range and you don't have TMJ, then I'd say get a package of these. The one I had was definitely tasty!
PS. I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. No other compensation was recieved.

Can you recommend a good aluminum free deodorant that you have had luck with? I have tried a couple but not been super impressed with them. Maybe I'm picking the wrong ones!
